Editor’s note
The Croatian Veterinary Journal was first established in 1970 under the name “Veterinarska stanica”. Following a period of organizational changes, the Croatian Veterinary Institute took over as the publisher on January 1, 2009. Since then, the journal has been published regularly six times a year, with high production quality and an expanded number of pages. While it was originally intended for veterinary practitioners, it has evolved into an international scientific journal publishing research in the fields of veterinary and animal sciences, as well as biotechnology. All articles published since Volume 40, Issue 1 (2009) are accessible online on this website.
This publication is primarily aimed at veterinarians, biotechnologists, and the broader scientific community, encouraging professionals to share their latest findings. Acceptable manuscript types include: original scientific papers, review articles, short communications, professional articles, and case reports.
The change of the journal’s title to Croatian Veterinary Journal, starting January 1, 2026, together with the transition to an exclusively online format, represents an important milestone in its further international development. As the successor to Veterinarska stanica, the journal will maintain its continuity, starting with Volume 57.
The journal has been completely redesigned and is available on the following websites:
- https://ojs.srce.hr/index.php/croatian-veterinary-journal/index
- https://croatian-veterinary-journal.org
Abstracts and contents are indexed in: SCOPUS, CAB Abstracts (Index Veterinarius, Veterinary Bulletin), Global Health, VetMed Resource, and Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA). According to the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), the journal was ranked in Q3 for 2021.
I would like to thank all authors, reviewers, and readers for their continued support and contribution to the quality and development of the journal. I sincerely hope you appreciate the new title and design, and I look forward to our future cooperation.
Prof. Boris Habrun, DVM, PhD
Editor-in-Chief
